Almaty city, Kazakhstan, groundwater flooding Visual MODFLOW modeling dataset

This dataset was applied in a MODFLOW groundwater flow model to simulate and quantitatively assess the hydrogeological condition changes affecting and affected by the groundwater flooding process on the Almaty city “Akbulak micro-district”. It was assumed that the shift to hydrological flash flooding regime is related to the area's urbanization process. The model validated that changing the natural drainage system and extending the paved areas are the triggers for the drainage pattern change.
