Selected gene markers expression and histological findings in equine endometrosis

Gene expression of IGF1, MKI67, PDGFRA, P53, ESR1, PGR, TGFB1, THY1, ACTA2 and histological findings (Kenney-Doig category, fibroblast activity, destructive endometrosis, luminal epithelium height, luminal epithelium continuity, luminal epithelium degeneration, perivascular fibrosis, vascular ectasia, foci of periglandular fibrosis, glandular degeneration, inflammation, lymphocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, eosinophils, irregular differentiation) were evaluated in endometrium of mares. Samples were obtained in a slaughterhouse. Results were obtained with RT-PCR method and light microscopy (histological slides). For RT-PCR Ct values were used (threshold cycle). Data were analyzed according to assigned Kenney-Doig category of endometrosis grading.
