Dataset Documentation This repository contains simulation data from research investigating the synergies and substitutions between bidirectional battery electric vehicle fleets and stationary battery storage systems in commercial applications. The simulation data evaluates three use cases with varying fleet sizes, stationary battery storage capacities, and charging strategies to analyze economic and technical performance indicators. Repository Structure The dataset is organized by three main use cases representing different commercial applications: Health Social Services Manufacturing Office Each use case contains the following subdirectories: Charging_Strategy Contains detailed simulation results for different charging strategies and configurations. File Naming Convention: {charging_strategy}_bat_{battery_size_factor}_{use_case}_{number_of_evs}.csv Parameters: charging_strategy: bidirectional: Vehicle-to-grid capable smart charging unidirectional: Standard one-way smart charging uncontrolled: No smart charging control battery_size_factor: Battery sizing multiplier (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5) number_of_evs: Fleet size (1, 5, 10) Column Descriptions: timestamps: Date and time stamps in 15-minute intervals power_applied.EV_X: Applied charging/discharging power for vehicle X (kW) soc.EV_X: State of charge for vehicle X (0-1 scale) prices: Electricity prices (currency per kWh) fixed_power_contribution_per_component.load: Base electrical load of the facility (kW) grid_builder_usage: Net power consumption from the grid (kW) total_load: Total electrical demand including EVs (kW) fixed_power_contribution_per_component.pv: Solar PV generation (kW) EV_X.connected: Connection status of vehicle X (Boolean) KPIs Contains aggregated key performance indicators for economic and technical evaluation. File Naming Convention: calculated_kpis_{use_case}_{investment_year_SBS}_{level_of_investment_cost}.csv Column Descriptions: Charging Strategy: Type of charging control implemented Bat_Fleet_Size: Battery size factor and fleet size combination Bat_Size: Battery capacity sizing factor Fleet_Size: Number of vehicles in the fleet Electricity Costs: Annual electricity costs (k€) Peak Load: Maximum power demand (kW) Annual Self-Consumption: Percentage of self-generated energy consumed Annual Self-Sufficiency: Percentage of energy demand met by self-generation battery_investment: Investment costs for battery systems bidi_investment: Investment costs for bidirectional charging infrastructure total_investment: Total capital investment required annual_difference_elec_costs_ref_case: Annual electricity cost savings compared to reference case Amortization Time: Payback period in years ROI: Return on investment Supporting Data Directories Load: Contains annual load profiles for each use case showing baseline electricity consumption Prices: Contains electricity price data used in the simulations PV_Profiles: Contains photovoltaic generation profiles for facilities with solar installations
