This dataset records the statistical data of grassland type area and livestock carrying capacity in Xinghai County, Qinghai Province in 1988 and 2012. The data is classified and counted according to grassland group type codes. For example, Ⅰ represents alpine dry grassland type, Ⅱ represents mountain dry grassland type, Ⅲ represents alpine desert type, B represents medium grass group, J represents shrub group, etc. The specific meanings of each grassland group type code are detailed in the document "Instructions for Grassland Group Type Codes of Qinghai Province.pdf" included in the dataset. The data was collated from the *Statistical Book of Grassland Resources in Qinghai Province* released by the Qinghai Provincial Grassland Station in 1988 and 2012.
