The severity of osteoarthritis is linked to elevated levels of galectins. Here, the aim of the study was to evaluate the role of Galectin-4 in osteoarthritic cartilage. From five osteoarthritis (OA) patients chondrocytes were isolated and treated with Galectin-4. Thereafter total RNA was isolated and an Affymetrix microarray was performed.
