IDEAL Consortium: Integrated research on DEvelopmental determinants of Aging and Longevity

The IDEAL consortium aims to understand how conditions early in life influence ageing and how these links can be put to use to establish developmental pathways involved in longevity and healthy ageing. We investigate the mechanisms by which early life conditions affect late-life health, disease and ageing, the role of epigenetic regulation in developmental plasticity, and the transmission of epigenetic effects to next generations.
