Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is a Gram-negative rod motile bacterium, which has emerged as an important multidrug-resistant pathogen responsible for many types of clinical infections. The bacterium uses eight resistance-nodulation-division (RND) efflux pumps that enable resistant to a wide range of antibiotics.
