Danish Gallup Omnibus Data, 1990 comprises 16 omnibus surveys carried out by the Danish Gallup Institute in 1990. # #Each survey contains a number of demographic variables common to all the surveys of that year, as well as a number of questions dealing with topical events. # #The present survey is a year file based on all the surveys. # #The questions common to all 1990 omnibuses are: #The respondent's sex, age and marital status; size of the household, number of adults (persons aged 13 or more) and children, and age of the children; the respondent's position in the household; the respondent's education, occupational status, public or private employment and income; gross household income; the housewife's occupational status; housing conditions and ownership of the dwelling as well as geographical location and degree of urbanization; which party the respondent voted for at the last general election; which party the respondent would vote for at a general election on the day after the interview; newspaper reading habits; cinema visits; TV 2 and commercials on TV 2; TV habits and choice of channel; use of local radio; and whether the household is able to take TV 2 and/or Scansat/TV3. # #The special questions deal with such issues as: # #Omnibus no. 01 (DDA-1630): #No special questions. # #Omnibus no. 02 (DDA-1631): #Assessment of and attitude to acts of violence by the Police; motives of squatters for their actions; the number of cases of rape in Denmark; assessment of whether women are ever to blame in rape cases; and participation in and luck in connection with various forms of gambling. # #Omnibus no. 03 (DDA-1632): #The TV programmes 'Matador' (The Magnate), 'Højlunds Forsamlingshus' (Højlund's Assembly, a debate programme), 'Lykkehjulet' (Wheel of Fortune), and 'Eleva2ren' (the Friday show on Channel 2); and the respondent's degree of satisfaction with her/his job. # #Omnibus no. 04 (DDA-1633): #Whether the respondent prefers that Denmark is a monarchy or a republic; the degree of freedom of the Danish sovereign as regards making political statements; attitude to Denmark's membership of NATO; detente in Europe; and attitude to part-time employment of women versus a general reduction of working hours. # #Omnibus no. 05 (DDA-1634): #Attitude to conscientious objectors; experiences with nature healers; and assessment of the Government's performance. # #Omnibus no. 06 (DDA-1635): #Summer holiday plans; which country the respondent would prefer to live in, if not in Denmark; assessment of the moral standard of Danish trade and industry; and placing of the political parties and the respondent in relation to the centre of Danish politics. # #Omnibus no. 07 (DDA-1636): #No special questions. # #Omnibus no. 08 (DDA-1637): #Attitude to Denmark's membership of NATO and of the EC; and whether the respondent prefers the American President Bush or the Soviet President Gorbachev. # #Omnibus no. 09 (DDA-1638): #Attitude to a reduction of the number of political refugees; knowledge of prize savings accounts; and whether the respondent has ever had work done by moonlighters. # #Omnibus no. 10 (DDA-1639): #Whether the respondent has been gainfully employed within the last week; number of hours of work on the day before the interview; number of hours of work at home; and which of the following problems the respondent finds it important to solve: balance of payments, unemployment, economy, pollution, burden of taxation, political refugees, competitive power, family policy, social problems, public expenses, crime, security policy, education, and adjustment to the EC. # #Omnibus no. 11 (DDA-1640): #Attitude to Denmark's membership of the EC; whether the respondent has been gainfully employed within the last week; number of hours of work on the day before the interview; number of hours of work at home; which of the following problems the respondent finds it important to solve: balance of payments, unemployment, economy, pollution, burden of taxation, political refugees, competitive power, family policy, social problems, public expenses, crime, security policy, education, and adjustment to the EC; the respondent's sleep requirement; whether the non-Socialist policy which has been pursued since 1982 has affected the economic situation and the social conditions in Denmark favourably or unfavourably; whether a Social Democratic government would have been better; attitude to reunions of refugee families; and attitude to the political and economic co-operation within the EC. # #Omnibus no. 12 (DDA-1641): #Subtitles on TV; attitude to privatization; a possible coalition Government consisting of the Social Democratic Party, the Conservative People's Party and some of the centre parties; participation in political meetings; and whether the respondent is colour-blind or word-blind. # #Omnibus no. 13 (DDA-1642): #No special questions. # #Omnibus no. 14 (DDA-1643): #Attitude to Denmark's membership of the EC and to the political and economic co-operation within the EC. # #Omnibus no. 15 (DDA-1644): #Attitude to Denmark's membership of the EC and to the political and economic co-operation within the EC; and expectations of 1991 (as regards price development, labour market unrest, Denmark's economy, and the family's standard of living). # #Omnibus no. 17 (DDA-1645): #Whether the respondent feels lonely or easily makes friends, has many friends, and has one best friend; whether the respondent ever does the following things with her/his friends: celebrates birthdays, borrows money, goes to sports, discusses personal problems, asks for and does various favours, goes to parties, goes to the cinema, dines out, watches television, says a prayer, makes or receives visits, and goes on holiday; and whether the respondent ever writes letters
