VPRS 5046 Court of Petty Sessions Australian Register of Judgements

The orders contained in Australian Registers of Judgements relate to judgements made in interstate courts and which were originally registered in those Courts of Petty Sessions and subsequently, the Magistrates' Courts (or their interstate equivalents) for enforcement. When the defendants moved interstate, copies of the orders were registered in the Australian Registers of Judgements at the Court of Petty Sessions/Magistrates' Courts nearest to the defendants' new residential addresses. Once registered, the judgements were then enforceable through the local courts in Victoria.Details recorded in the register includes: the name of the court where the judgement was made; title of suit and date of commencement; form or nature of suit; name and addition of party to whom payment is to be made, or in whose favour judgement is given or made; name and addition of party ordered to pay money, or to do or not do any act; date of judgement; abstract of judgement, stating amount (if any) ordered to be paid, and particulars of any act ordered to be done or not to be done; date of trial and amount of verdict (if any); and remarks. Each order was registered and signed by the magistrate.Pages in this register were usually headed Register of Judgements. This series was previously titled as Register of Judgements for Commonwealth Cases. The change of series title has been made to distinguish this register from the Commonwealth Registers also created by many Courts.

当被告跨州迁移时，判决副本会登记在距离被告新住所地最近的小额诉讼法院/治安法院所辖的澳大利亚判决登记册中。
完成登记后，该判决即可通过维多利亚州的当地法院予以强制执行。
登记册所记录的详细信息包括：作出判决的法院名称、诉讼案由与立案日期、诉讼形式或性质、应受款方或判决受益方的姓名及地址、被判令支付款项或实施/停止某项行为的当事人姓名及地址、判决作出日期、判决摘要（列明判令支付的金额（如有）以及被要求实施或禁止实施的行为详情）、庭审日期与裁决金额（如有），以及备注事项。
每份判决均经登记并由治安法官签字确认。
该登记册的页面通常以“判决登记册（Register of Judgements）”为页眉。该系列档案此前的名称为“联邦案件判决登记册（Register of Judgements for Commonwealth Cases）”，此次更名是为了将本登记册与诸多法院同期创建的联邦登记册（Commonwealth Registers）加以区分。
