Research Data for Walking and Seeing: Comparing Perceived Context-specific Walkability and Measuring Perceived Street Scene Complexity

Based on the Google Street View images representing real-world street views from a pedestrian perspective in London and Hong Kong, this work applies a combination of computational techniques to quantify the street features that may be related with perceived street scene complexity (PSSC) and compare if the patterns of these features differ between contrasting urban contexts. The results of this work sheds light on the difference in the machanims of PSSC across geographically and culturally distinct contexts.
