ArchXBench is a hierarchical benchmark suite that supports the development and evaluation of AI-driven hardware design methodologies, particularly those leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) for data-path-intensive digital system synthesis and optimization. It focuses on compute-intensive subsystems, excluding control-dominant designs such as DMA engines, memory controllers, and interface circuits. This benchmark emphasizes architectural diversity and computational complexity to facilitate automated RTL generation and performance research. The ArchXBench benchmark suite comprises six distinct levels, covering a wide spectrum of architectural complexity ranging from simple combinational circuits to multi-cycle iterative and pipelined systems, and includes hierarchical combinations of such units. This suite captures the key trade-offs among area, latency, throughput, and power consumption, enabling comprehensive architectural design space exploration.
