Metagenomic analysis of the rhizosphere microbiome of drought-stressed, dry root rot infected field soil planted with chickpea by whole-genome shotgun sequencing.

The project investigates microbial diversity in the rhizosphere of chickpea field soil heavily infected with dry root rot disease. Further, the study compares the microbial population in dry root rot infected soil under well-water and drought-stress treatments to investigate the impact of drought on the pathogenic and symbiotic microbial community in the rhizosphere and understand the subsequent effect on the plants.
