Classical cadherins control nucleus and centrosome position and cell polarity

Astrocytes were plated onto fibronectin printed micropatterns in the presence of calcium and were subsequently incubated for 2h in calcium-free medium and then for 5h in calcium-containing medium.

The distances between the nucleus or the centrosome and the cell centroids were measured (Figure 2B). The distribution of the angle between the centrosome-nucleus axis and the micro-pattern radius passing through the centrosome was also measured (Figure 2C).

The typical intracellular organization of the cell in each condition is depicted (Figure 2A). Cells are stained for pan-cadherin or E-cadherin (green), pericentrin (red) and Hoechst (blue), (Figure 2A).
