NRS-884 | Registers of Quarter Sessions criminal cases heard before Supreme Court on Circuit

These records were created by the district Clerks of the Peace and appear to have been subsequently forwarded to the Clerk of the Peace who retained them for administration purposes. The records show, for each cause heard, the names of Crown Prosecutor, prisoner, Counsel for the Defence, Witnesses for the Crown and the defence (noting days of attendance, and whether bound or subpoenaed) the judge arraigning, judge presiding, date and place of committal, dates of arraignment and trial, defendants plea, verdict, and if applicable, sentence passed, remarks, (such as. jury, retrial, judge’s remarks accompanying sentence)Some volumes also contain telegrams, a subpoena, a newspaper article, police statement, shorthand notes, a list with the names of jurors and the Return of Prisoners waiting trial at Bomabla, Cootamundra, Hay and Young.There is a separate volume for each district. The volumes do not contain an index and are in chronological order of hearing.

各地区均设有独立档案册，本批档案未编制索引，且按照庭审时间顺序排列。
