Kashgar project: Gollings collection. Idkah Mosque

Photographs were taken by John Gollings in March-April 2005 as part of the Kashgar Project. This sub-collection contains images of the Idkah Mosque, a congregational place of prayer in Kashgar's Old City, dating back to the 15th century.
The Kashgar Project brings together teams from the Monash Asia Institute and Urumqi Normal University in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China, in an international research collaboration to document, measure, and define the most significant cultural monuments and spaces of Kashgar. The Monash Asia Institute and Urumqi Normal University teams are working with the support of the Department of Tourism, Government of Xinjiang and the Department of Foreign Relations, Kashgar. For the purposes of this collection, Kasghar is defined as the modern and ancient city and the eleven countries that currently form the greater region of "Kasghar".
All images within the collection have been converted to jpeg format from the raw image files.

本数据集内的所有影像均由原始图像文件转换为JPEG格式。
