The land types are divided into secondary categories: paddy field, dry land, closed forest land, shrub land, open forest land, other forest land, high-coverage grassland, medium-coverage grassland, low-coverage grassland, rivers and canals, lakes, reservoirs and ponds, permanent glaciers and snowfields, tidal flats, beach land, urban land, rural settlements, other construction land, sandy land, Gobi, saline-alkali land, marsh land, bare land, bare rock and gravel land, and others.
