Strengthen PSNP Institutions and Resilience Phase II (SPIR II), Ethiopia: Midline Survey

This dataset is part of the IMPEL (Implementer-Led Evaluation and Learning) evaluation of SPIR-II (Strengthen PSNP Institutions and Resilience), a randomized controlled trial launched in 2022 to evaluate interventions aimed at improving livelihoods, resilience, food security, and nutrition among rural households vulnerable to food insecurity in Ethiopia. The study includes 234 kebeles assigned across three treatment arms comparing standard Productive Safety Net Programme (PSNP) transfers with combinations of SPIR II livelihood programming, nurturing care groups (NCGs), and targeted cash grants. Specifically, this dataset contains data from the SPIR-II midline survey, the one-year follow-up round of the trial conducted between August 2023 and January 2024. The survey attempted to reinterview all 3,015 households enrolled at baseline across 15 woredas in the Amhara and Oromia regions. Interviews were conducted with the primary female respondent only, and child anthropometric measurements were also collected. The evaluation design follows the same cohort of index children over time, with survey timing aligned to capture adherence to age-appropriate IYCF practices and child growth-faltering dynamics as outlined in the study pre-analysis plan.
