Molecular and isotopic composition evaluation of plant wax n-alkanes and n-alkanoic acids along the plant-to-peat continuum in a Central Andean peatland -DATA

The data includes environmental and biomarker data (plant wax molecular and stable isotopic composition) from plants, peat and core frok the Coro-Coro bofedal. This ecosystems is located in the central Andes Mountains (–17.8° S, –69.4° W; 4,478 m a.s.l.) Samples were collected in May 2024 along a 3 km transect of 30 sites spaced at 100 m intervals to study microhabitat environmental variability. Conductivity, temperature, and pH were measured in surface water using a handheld probe (Hanna Instruments; HI 9829, Rhode Island, USA), and water samples were collected in 50ml Eppendorf tubes.
