Expression data from sulfisoxazole-treated cancer cells

Sulfisoxazole, a FDA-approved drug, is a promising repositioned drug candidate for the treatement of various cancers. Therefore we analyzed the gene expression by microarray to identified the up-regulated and down-regulated genes after SFX treatment in both, melanoma and breast cancer cells. Recently, breast cancer and melanoma have a higher incidence in the world. Therefore, we selected two cancer cell lines, SKMEL28 (melanoma) and MDA-MB231 (breast cancer) for analysis. Cells were treated with 100 μM of SFX for 24 hours under serum-free condition. Then, total RNA was collected using TRIZOL, and performed Affymetrix microarray.
