This is an analytical dataset comparing the refund rate of the facial mask product category against the overall store-wide refund rate for a skincare company's Douyin official shop. It plays a pivotal role in optimizing the promotional and operational strategies for the store's key product categories. Using this dataset, stakeholders can gain in-depth insights into the disparity between the refund rate of the facial mask category and the store's average overall refund rate. These data provide robust survey-based support for skincare industry operators to comprehensively understand market dynamics. In addition to the skincare industry, market operators across other product categories can also derive valuable operational insights from this dataset. Such analysis enables enterprises to more effectively adjust their marketing strategies, optimize user experience, promote sustained business growth, and provide data-backed support for maintaining normal market operation order. 1. Data Collection and Processing: User behavior data spanning July to September 2024 is collected from the database of the company's Douyin channel management system. The dataset includes all product order IDs, order submission dates, restricted purchase product categories, and other relevant fields within the statistical period. Sensitive information is encrypted, and the raw data undergoes processing, desensitization, filtering, counting, and analytical processing. 2. Algorithm Rules: Calculations and analyses are conducted on the collected dataset. The total order volume is defined as the sum of order volumes across all product categories. The overall average refund rate is calculated as total closed orders divided by total order volume. The refund rate of the facial mask category is calculated as closed orders in the facial mask category divided by total orders in the facial mask category. If a category's refund rate exceeds the overall average refund rate, its marketing investment is deemed inefficient; otherwise, it is considered efficient. 3. Comprehensive analytical results are derived through statistical processing and filtering. These results offer marketing strategy formulation and market guidance for enterprise managers and policy makers when making decisions regarding product promotion category investment in their business operations.
