Data and code for: Non-neutral morphological divergence contrasts with neutral genetic structure in corn mice, Calomys musculinus (Rodentia: Cricetidae), inhabiting agroecosystems

This repository contains the data and code associated with the manuscript “Non-neutral morphological divergence contrasts with neutral genetic structure in corn mice, Calomys musculinus (Rodentia: Cricetidae), inhabiting agroecosystems”.It includes functional trait data, skull and mandible geometric morphometric landmark coordinates, microsatellite genotypes, STRUCTURE input files, population metadata, derived summary tables, and R scripts used to reproduce the main analyses. The data were used to evaluate phenotypic differentiation and neutral genetic structure among six populations of Calomys musculinus from agroecosystems of central Argentina.Geometric morphometric data correspond to averaged landmark configurations from two independent digitization sessions per specimen. Microsatellite data are provided as both the full eight-locus dataset and a conservative five-locus dataset. The conservative dataset, which excludes loci showing recurrent Hardy–Weinberg deviations and heterozygote deficits, was used for the main population-genetic analyses, whereas the full and intermediate marker subsets were retained for sensitivity analyses.The updated population-genetic workflow also includes a parametric Monte Carlo power analysis of the conservative five-locus dataset. Simulations reproduce the pooled empirical allele frequencies, observed population-specific sample sizes, and missing-data pattern to evaluate power to detect low levels of population differentiation across predefined FST values.
