资源简介:
Major cluster mergers are the most energetic events since the Big Bang. Asignificant portion of merger energy is dissipated into the ICM through shockheating. The high-pressure shocked and stirring ICM can affect the evolution ofcluster member galaxies dramatically. The post-shock flow can also sculpture thegaseous tails like the RPS tails of late-type galaxies and tails of radiogalaxies. We find a potential merger shock front in the closest rich clusterA3627. We propose new XMM observations in order to 1) constrain the merger shockand investigate its connection with some RPS tails and a dramatic radio tail 2)understand the merger geometry of A3627 with the ICM thermodynamics and 3)revisit the RPS galaxies and their ICM environment.
