Galápagos Cormorant (NHMW-Zoo-VS 62.755)

3D scan of a mount of the Galápagos Cormorant (*Phalacrocorax harrisi*). This species is the only flightless member of the cormorant family. They are very rare in the wild and can only be found on two of the Galápagos Islands: Isabela and Fernandina. Due to the lack of natural predators and enough food on the islands, they lost their ability to fly. This specimen was purchased in 1902 by natural history dealer William F. H. Rosenberg.
