Settlements, population, road network, and land cover on the island of Cyprus in the 1960s.

The dataset consists of four geospatial layers. The coastal shape, the road network and the land cover/use derived by manual digitization from the topographical map of Cyprus published in 1969 by the U.S. Army Map Service (https://www.loc.gov/item/2017588191/). It was prepared in 25 sheets at a scale of 1:50,000 using the ED50 / UTM zone 36N reference system (EPSG: 23036). The mean rectification accuracy of the 25 sheets using a first-order affine transformation was 5.5 m. Additionally the dataset includes the layer of the populated places described in the Census of 1960 accompanied by its population attributes. The dataset covers the entire area of the island of Cyprus.

本数据集包含四个地理空间图层。其中海岸轮廓、道路网与土地覆盖/利用类型三类图层，均通过手动数字化美国陆军测绘局（U.S. Army Map Service）1969年发布的塞浦路斯地形图提取得到（来源链接：https://www.loc.gov/item/2017588191/）。该三类图层以ED50 / UTM 36N参考坐标系（EPSG: 23036）为基准，按1:5万比例尺制作为25幅分幅图；通过一阶仿射变换对25幅分幅图进行几何校正，平均校正精度为5.5米。此外，本数据集还包含基于1960年塞浦路斯人口普查编制的居民点图层，并附带对应的人口属性信息。本数据集覆盖塞浦路斯全岛全域范围。
