Samples from soil contaminated with plastic were used as microbial source to establish two microbial consortia.Physical-chemical analysis revealed the capacity of these two enriched microbial consortia in degrading fossil plastics.Further molecular analysis depict microbial metabolic pathways related to plastic degradation present in both consortia.
