Investment into African businesses lags global peers (Africa still receives less than 1% of global VC funding) because of inconsistency in information about African businesses, no mechanism to validate available information and higher cost of sourcing deals. We are leveraging our trust and data to build investability scores for African businesses; provide a platform that integrates information and data from various sources; and verifies the data available and the contributors. We carry out web scraping and data validation through scouring data sources that integrate institutional and public databases with private and proprietary sources. We validate our data through community and crowdsourced verification including through partnerships with various consumers, suppliers, hubs and accelerators across the African continent.
