Effects of Chinese Traditional Medicine Wumei Extract on Microbial Diversity in a Mouse Model of Radiation-Induced Dorsal Tongue Mucositis

In this study, we aimed to evaluate the therapeutic potential of WME in alleviating RIOM using a well-established mouse model of radiation-induced tongue dorsal mucositis (RITDM). Through oral microbial diversity,, we sought to elucidate the multifaceted mechanisms by which WME may alleviate RIOM. Our findings not only provide novel insights into the therapeutic actions of WME but also offer a compelling scientific rationale for its clinical application as an adjunctive treatment in patients undergoing radiotherapy for head and neck cancers.
