WGS of Klebsiella spp. isolated from Human and Environment in South Korea

Ongoing outbreaks of Klebsiella pneumoniae and Klebsiella variicola are currently being experienced within a hospital in South Korea. This study aims to compare alterations in genetic profiles between environmental and clinical strains, while also examining the migration of integrons and transposons associated with antibiotic resistance genes. A noteworthy discovery is the identification of OXA2 genes alongside KPC4 and VIM1 on the same plasmid, a previously undocumented occurrence.
