Reconstructed county-level dataset of crop area affected by typhoons in coastal China from 1980 to 2022

This county-level dataset of crop area affected by typhoons over an extended period (1980-2022) is reconstructed using meteorological data and the precious county-level typhoon disaster records (2004-2013, 1845 valid records from eight coastal provinces or municipalities, involving 398 county-level meteorological stations and 75 typhoons). The reconstructed dataset involves 530 county-level weather stations and 514 historical impact typhoons during the period 1980-2022. To enhance the applicability of the dataset, we categorized the disasters into four classes: light, moderate, severe, and extremely severe disasters regarding to single station and individual typhoon, respectively.
