Photographic portrait of an outfit of cowboys in the mountains, ca.1898. Eight cowboys pose in a line, mounted on their horses, most wearing similar hats and vests. A sharp mountain ridge juts up from behind the tree in back of them, along with another, flatter rock formation in the extreme background. The cowboy at center rides a light horse in contrast to the others' dark ones.
