District Level Climate Vulnerability Index

The District Level Climate Vulnerability Index (DLVCI) is a composite index that measures the vulnerability of districts in India to climate change. It was developed by the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) in 2020. This study assesses district-level vulnerability in India by mapping exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity using spatio-temporal analysis. To develop the DLVCI, the study developed a climate vulnerability index (CVI) of Indian states and union territories (UTs). The CVI maps the combined risk of hydro-meteorological disasters and their compounded impacts on vulnerability.
