Fish survey, fishing duration, and other data were collected from net trawls in the Bering Sea from the MILLER FREEMAN and other platforms from 01 April 1976 to 09 August 1976. Data were collected by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Seattle, as part of Outer Continental Shelf Environmental Assessment Program (OCSEAP). Data were processed by NODC to the NODC F123 Fish/Shellfish Surveys format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/f123.html. The F123 format is used for data from field sampling of marine fish and shellfish. The data derive from analysis of midwater or bottom tow catches and provide information on population density and distribution. Cruise information, position, date, time, gear type, fishing distance and duration, and number of hauls are reported for each survey. Environmental data may include meteorological conditions, surface and bottom temperature and salinity, and current direction and speed. Bottom trawl or other gear dimensions and characteristics are also reported. Catch statistics (e.g., weight, volume, number of fish per unit volume) may be reported for both total haul and for individual species. Biological characteristics of selected specimens, predator/ prey information (from stomach contents analysis), and growth data may also be included. A text record is available for comment.

F123格式专为海洋鱼类与贝类的野外采样数据设计，其收录的数据源自中层拖网或底拖网渔获物分析，可用于获取目标种群的种群密度与空间分布特征。每份调查记录均包含航次信息、作业位置、观测日期与时间、作业渔具类型、拖曳距离与时长以及拖网次数。环境数据项可涵盖气象条件、表层与底层海水温度及盐度、海流方向与流速，同时还会记录底拖网或其他作业渔具的尺寸与性能参数。渔获统计信息可包含单拖网总渔获量、各物种的渔获数据（如重量、体积、单位体积渔获尾数）。此外，该格式还可收录选定样本的生物学特征、基于胃含物分析得到的捕食者-猎物关系数据以及生长相关信息。本次数据集同步提供文本记录以供批注。
