Description This dataset contains the model output in netCDF format from MPAS-Albany Land Ice (Hoffman et al., 2018) simulations of the Antarctic Ice Sheet from 2000-2100 for Shafer et al. (submitted). The output is composed of simulations that test how Antarctic mass loss responds when ice-shelf basal melt is parameterized using E3SMv2.1-SORRM (Comeau et al., 2025) thermal forcing (TF) either 1) within ice-shelf cavities ("cavity") or 2) extrapolated from the ice-shelf calving front ("open ocean"). We run five simulations for each experiment, one control and 4 projections using TF described here (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20388987).
