Raw data time series of occupancy of the electric car charging stations of the IWB

IWB is building a network of high-performance publicly accessible charging stations in the canton of Basel-Stadt in order to give decisive impetus to environmentally friendly electric mobility, which is ideal for urban areas. During the pilot phase, the parking spaces were equipped with LoRa-connected sensors. The aim was to determine whether parking spaces are occupied by vehicles without them performing an active charging process. After internal votes, the IWB will not continue the transmission of the data from around mid-September 2022. This is due to difficulties in transferring the values as well as a lack of relevance to practice. When the other public charging stations roll out on Allmend, LoRa sensors are expected to no longer be installed. The available raw data, in particular from May 2021, contains many duplicate entries, as the sensors report their occupancy multiple times and at different intervals, even without a change in status (occupied/free).
