Cell ploidy as determined by fluorescence in situ hybridization.

The number of surface epithelial cells and number of cystic epithelial cells available for quantitation for each ovarian specimen are listed, followed by the number (percentage) of nuclei showing triploidy or tetraploidy for at least one of the indicated number of probes. Statistical analysis of these data is described in the Materials and Methods section; the difference between total percentage of aneuploid cells in cyst vs. surface epithelial cells is significant at a value of P<0.001.
