Protect the Reef by Improved Water Quality in the Southern Wet Tropics #4

This project will form part of a coordinated Green Army contribution to addressing key threatening processes to the Great Barrier Reef. It will do this by taking a whole of catchment / basin approach to protect and enhance those including wetlands, riparian areas and coastal zones that have a water quality protection function and an intrinsic value in their own right. The project will support multiple local community activities that align with the Reef Recovery Action Plans currently being developed by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the NRM Plan for the region, and the Water Quality Improvement Plan for the Region.

本项目将作为协同开展的绿色军团（Green Army）行动的组成部分，致力于应对大堡礁（Great Barrier Reef）面临的各类关键威胁因素。本项目将采用全流域/集水区整体治理路径，对兼具水质保护功能与自身固有价值的湿地、河岸带及沿海区域实施保护与优化升级。本项目将支持多项本地社区活动，这些活动与大堡礁海洋公园管理局（Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority）目前正在制定的《大堡礁恢复行动计划》、该区域的自然资源管理（Natural Resource Management, NRM）规划以及区域水质改善计划相契合。
