Serum Metabolomic Signatures Predict Tumor Recurrence After Resection or Ablation in Patients with Early-stage Hepatocellular Carcinoma

We generated serum metabolome profiles in patients with early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (BCLC stage 0/A) who achieved complete response to surgical resection or local ablation at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Health between 2015 and 2023. Normalized abundance of 19 unique metabolites was determined using ultra high-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC/MS/MS) performed by Metabolon, Inc.

本研究于2015至2023年间，依托德克萨斯大学西南医学中心与帕克兰医疗系统（Parkland Health），针对巴塞罗那临床肝癌（BCLC）分期0/A期的早期肝细胞癌（hepatocellular carcinoma）患者构建血清代谢组谱队列，该队列患者均在接受手术切除或局部消融治疗后获得完全缓解。后续由Metabolon公司（Metabolon, Inc.）采用超高效液相色谱-串联质谱法（ultra high-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry, UHPLC/MS/MS）完成19种独特代谢物的标准化丰度定量检测。
