Metagenome diversity in polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) degrading consortium (NS-PAH-2015-HSR-4)

In this study soil metagenome NS-PAH-2015-HSR-4 was collected near HPCL depot, Hisar, India. Further enriched over minimal media containing phenanthrene (three fused ring PAH) as principle carbon source. Analysis using quantifying chromatographic techniques revealed NS-PAH-2015-HSR-4 is an potent phenanthrene degradaing consortium. Metagenome diversity of NS-PAH-2015-HSR-4 was identified using Illumina based Miseq 2 X 300 bp NGS plateform.
