MULTILINGUALISM AND LANGUAGE HYBRIDIZATION IN UZBEK INTERNET DISCOURSE: STRUCTURAL PATTERNS, PRAGMATICS, AND PLATFORM SPECIFICITY
收藏资源简介:
This article examines multilingualism and language hybridization in Uzbek internet discourse using a purposive sample of 17 public sources from Telegram, Instagram, YouTube, and the official Daryo channel page, recorded on 19 July 2026. Combining computer-mediated discourse analysis with contextual-pragmatic, morphemic, graphic, and comparative methods, the study shows that Uzbek usually functions as the matrix code. The analysis distinguishes code-switching from nonce borrowing, established loanwords, and graphic hybridization. Latin–Cyrillic variation is shown not to imply a language switch automatically, because Uzbek itself circulates in both scripts. Platform tendencies include editorial normalization on Telegram, compressed commercial mixing on Instagram, and hybrid titles and metadata on YouTube.
