RNA sequencing of G. rostochiensis (PCN) resistant (JEX/A-267) and susceptible (Kufri Jyoti) cultivars

Potato cyst nematode (PCN) is a major pest worldwide, including India. It persists in the soil and affects potato production and productivity for years. The molecular changes happening in the roots upon PCN infection are vastly unknown. Identification of transcripts and genes governing G. rostochiensis resistance will help in the development of resistant varieties. Accordingly, gene expression profiling of compatible (Kufri Jyoti) and incompatible (JEX/A-267) genotypes roots was studied before (0 DAI) and after (10 DAI) infection of G. rostochiensis juveniles through RNA sequencing.
