Taxa were identified from bacterial 16 S rRNA sequences present in the phyllosphere microbiomes using mothur (v.1.48.0) [60] and the SILVA database (v.138) [51] (n = 3 for all samples). Samples were subsampled down to the size of the sample with the lowest number of sequences before tabulating.
