Digital Archive from Watching Briefs at Old Quarrington Quarry, County Durham, 2019 to 2023

This archive consists of the site records, images and vector graphics from a series of archaeological watching briefs conducted by Archaeological Research Services. Work occurred at Old Quarrington Quarry, County Durham between 2019 and 2023. The 2019 watching brief revealed two features of archaeological potential which were, following investigation, confirmed as naturally occurring features. In 2020 watching brief found one linear feature with archaeological potential which later, following investigation, was revealed as a geological feature. The final watching brief in 2023 identified a number of periglacial features, as well as a small pit, backfilled with modern burnt waste material, and a shallow linear. No other finds or features of archaeological significance were revealed.
