Terrestrial Ecosystem Disturbance- harvested carbon in cropland

We have produced a dataset that provides a comprehensive analysis of harvested carbon from crop production in China over a 40-year period, from 1981 to 2020. The dataset, with a spatial resolution of 10x10 km, categorizes cropland into five types, and reveals that grain crops contributed the largest share of total harvested carbon at 75.9%. The mean harvested carbon of the cropland ecosystem was 0.31 Gt C yr-1 over the past 40 years. The dataset is expected to aid in estimating the carbon budget of cropland ecosystems and China as a whole.
