资源简介:

This dataset contains selected processed simulation output and Python post-processing scripts supporting Sabet Sarvestani and Momen, “Hurricane Boundary Layer Turbulence Dynamics over Complex Urban Canopies Using Large-Eddy Simulations,” accepted for publication in Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres. The study uses a high-resolution immersed-boundary-method large-eddy simulation framework to characterize hurricane boundary layer and conventional atmospheric boundary layer turbulence over realistic and idealized urban canopy configurations. The files include an instantaneous three-dimensional velocity field and triangulated urban geometry for the realistic Houston simulation, processed vertical-profile data for flat and dense staggered-canopy HBL and ABL cases, and scripts for reproducing wind-speed, normalized Reynolds-stress, and normalized eddy-viscosity plots. For additional information about the simulation framework, case configurations, numerical methods, and interpretation of the archived results, please refer to: Sabet Sarvestani, F., and Momen, M. (2026). “Hurricane Boundary Layer Turbulence Dynamics over Complex Urban Canopies Using Large-Eddy Simulations.” Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, in press. Most simulations were performed using the University of Houston high-performance computing clusters, including Carya and Sabine. Because the complete raw simulation archive is approximately 2.5 TB, this deposit contains selected and processed outputs required to reproduce the archived figures.
