This dataset was prepared to explore the effect of currents on wave dissipation by vegetation (hereafter referred as WDV) by conducting flume experiments with stiff plant mimics in combined wave-flow conditions. Two flume experiments with following and adverse currents were carried out respectively in a 40-m-long and 0.8-m-wide wave flume of the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory at Delft University of Technology and in a 26-m-long, 0.6-m-wide, 0.6-m-high wave flume in Sun Yat-sen University. Wave height data, velocity data and force data were obtained in these two flume experiments. Notably, drag coefficient data were calculated using calibration method and direct measurement method. The data sets presented here includes the wave data, velocity data, force data, velocity profile and drag coefficient.

本数据集旨在通过开展波浪-水流联合作用条件下的刚性模拟植物水槽试验,探究水流对植被消浪(Wave Dissipation by Vegetation,以下简称WDV)效应的影响。研究分别依托代尔夫特理工大学流体力学实验室的40米长、0.8米宽波浪水槽,与中山大学26米长、0.6米宽、0.6米高的波浪水槽,完成了顺流与逆流工况的两组水槽试验。两组试验均获取了波高数据、流速数据与受力数据。值得注意的是,本次试验的阻力系数数据分别通过校准法与直接测量法计算得到。本数据集包含波浪数据、流速数据、受力数据、流速剖面及阻力系数。
