The botanist João Barbosa Rodrigues in the Amazon basin: exploring the Capim River (1874-1875)

Abstract This article proposes analysis of the geographic, hydrographic, botanical and zoological studies contucted by the Brazilian botanist João Barbosa Rodrigues (1842-1909) on a journey along the Capim River between 1874 and 1875. This trip was part of the Amazon Basin Exploratory Commission, which was led by Barbosa Rodrigues and sponsored by the Imperial government. These studies are found in the Report “Exploration and study of the Amazon Basin: Capim river,” wich was published and presented to the Ministry of Agriculture, Commerce, and Public Works in 1875.摘要 本文针对巴西植物学家若昂·巴博萨·罗德里格斯（João Barbosa Rodrigues，1842-1909）于1874至1875年间沿卡皮姆河（Capim River）考察期间开展的地理、水文、植物学与动物学研究展开分析。此次考察隶属于亚马逊流域探险委员会（Amazon Basin Exploratory Commission），该委员会由罗德里格斯牵头，获帝国政府资助。上述研究成果收录于1875年发布并呈交农业、工商与公共工程部（Ministry of Agriculture, Commerce, and Public Works）的报告《亚马逊流域考察与研究：卡皮姆河》（"Exploration and study of the Amazon Basin: Capim river"）中。
