LATIN AS THE INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE OF MEDICAL COMMUNICATION.

Latin has played a central role in the development of medical terminology for more than two millennia and continues to function as a unifying linguistic foundation for healthcare professionals worldwide. Despite the dominance of English in modern scientific discourse, Latin remains embedded in anatomical nomenclature, clinical terminology, pharmaceutical prescriptions, and academic traditions. This review article examines the historical origins of Latin in medicine, its linguistic advantages, its current relevance in international medical communication, and the challenges associated with its use in contemporary education and practice. The study highlights that Latin terminology contributes to precision, universality, and professional continuity across cultures and languages.两千余年来，拉丁语始终在医学术语的发展进程中扮演核心角色，至今仍是全球医疗从业者统一的语言根基。尽管英语在现代科学话语中占据主导地位，拉丁语仍根植于解剖学命名法、临床术语体系、药品处方及学术传统之中。本篇综述文章探讨了医学领域拉丁语的历史起源、其语言学层面的优势、在当前国际医学交流中的现实意义，以及其在当代教育与临床实践中应用所面临的各项挑战。本研究表明，拉丁语术语有助于实现跨文化与跨语言场景下的精准性、普适性与专业传承性。
