Genomic assembly and annotation of mango seed weevil Sternochetus mangiferae

Sternochetus mangiferae, a monophagous beetle species feeding on mango seed, is one of the most dangerous quarantine pests worldwide. However, the knowledge about its genomic basis of host adaption and genetic divergence is still limited. Here, we obtained a high-quality genomic assembly of 701.87 Mb with Contig N50 of 3.57 Mb, the mapping ratio of Illumina reads of 98.95%, and the BUSCO score of 98.70%. The high-quality genome will contribute to further understanding the genetic basis of the adaptive evolution of this pest.
