资源简介:
This data set presents places associated with the plantations, connections, exportation, and international trade of Brazil's rubber booms, roughly 1880-1915 and 1942-1945. The dates, when available, are specific to the source material and may only represent the time-frame under consideration rather than the entirety of a place’s existence/importance. The data set divides the places into four categories: Plantations – the concentration of rubber trees and labor; Connections – places through which laborers, goods, and information flowed from one part of the country to another; Exports – border towns or harbors in metropolises that controlled the movement of rubber out of Brazil; and International – places outside Brazil that influenced Brazilian rubber trade specifically or the global rubber trade generally. When appropriate, some places appear in multiple categories.
