Canadian Gallup Poll, January 1988, #529_1

This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly social and political issues. The questions ask opinions on Canada's political leaders, the impact of the Olympics in Canada and what the biggest threat to Canada's future is. There are also questions on other topics of interest such as the Regan Gorbachev nuclear disarmement talks, CRTC plans for cable expansion and the propriety of women with families working in the workforce. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic, political and social variables. Topics of interest include: Olympics in Canada; party most favoured in Canada; biggest threat to Canada's future; CRTC cable expansion; evaluation of Brian Mulroney; evaluation of John Turner; evaluation of Ed Broadbent; federal government's economic policy; married women in the work force; and the impact of the Regan Gorbachev nuclear disarmement agreement. Basic demographic variables are also included.
